Player of the Week

Player of the weekSJ Meyer has been recognizing a Basketball Player of the Week (POW) from Northmont High School with a plaque and a picture in the Englewood Independent newspaper. The POW has been chosen by Northmont Coach Jim Brown & his staff.  We have been doing this since November of 1999.

Accounting for Kids

SJ Meyer also participates in Accounting for Kids Day which is sponsored by the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. The sixth grade students play a stock market game and talk about math. Even though some of the teams did not make a profit in the stock market, it was a fun learning experience.  After playing the game, students were amazed at the practical applications of math and had numerous questions about the benefits of saving their money.  By spending just a few hours in the classroom with students, the CPAs demonstrated how important it is to develop fundamental math skills while illustrating the value of money.
